Gatestand Driver Kiosk

SAIC's Gatestand kiosk can streamline the terminal gate process by performing the transaction quickly and automatically.

Overview

Manual driver transactions can be a costly bottleneck in a terminal's gate process. SAIC's Gatestand kiosk can streamline the process by performing the transaction quickly and automatically.

In a typical transaction, the Gatestand identifies the driver by scanning a fingerprint, reading an ID card, or scanning a barcoded ticket. At the same time, an OCR system reads the truck's license plate. The Gatestand sends the data to the terminal operating system (TOS) and prints instructions from the TOS for the driver.

Features

The Gatestand can be equipped with a variety of features to streamline the transaction process.

  • Biometrics: A highly accurate fingerprint reader quickly verifies the driver's print against the IIS driver database.
  • Card Readers: The Gatestand can read employee badges, driver's licenses, TWIC cards and other common credentials.
  • Transactions: The driver uses a text display and keyboard to perform the transaction, and a rugged printer prints documents for the driver.
  • License Plate OCR: Each Gatestand location can be equipped with license plate OCR to identify the truck and integrate transaction data.
  • Gate Clerk: The Gatestand enables the driver to communicate with the gate clerk if needed.

Benefits

  • Increases efficiency by automating the driver transaction
  • Enhances security by positively identifying drivers
  • Reduces data errors from manual processes
  • Helps track equipment and drivers through the facility
