SAIC Manages Ameren Illinois' ActOnEnergy® Business Energy-Efficiency Program

Overview

SAIC provides comprehensive services to implement Ameren Illinois' ActOnEnergy® business energy-efficiency program. In the first year, several new programs were successfully launched in less than two months. The ActOnEnergy program is now in its fourth year and, with expansion programs and addition of new programs, continues to be successful. From the start and through today, SAIC manages the program design, data tracking system, call center, and incentive fulfillment to enable quick program deployment within two months among business and industrial customers.

In the role of implementation contractor, SAIC effectively reaches out to Ameren Illinois' commercial and industrial customers to make them aware of the available incentives. ActOnEnergy's incentives pay a percentage of the cost of its business customers’ energy efficiency projects. When customers access the program, SAIC guides them through the kinds of incentives that are available to them and how to take advantage of them. In the first year of the program, Ameren Illinois' business customers received more than $3 million in incentives that will save approximately 53 million kilowatt hours.

Once hired, SAIC quickly deployed the program, which resulted in the successful launch of prescriptive lighting, motors, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) refrigeration, and a customer program less than two months after contractor selection.

The ActOnEnergy program is now in its fourth year and, with the expansion of existing programs (both gas and electric) and the addition of new programs, including compressed-air retro commissioning, process steam, and variable frequency drive (VFD), continues to be successful. In total, Ameren Illinois business customers have received over $20 million in incentives that will save approximately 238.6 million kilowatt hours. That's enough energy to power more than 29,911 homes for an entire year and save businesses more than $41 million annually in energy costs.
