SAIC’s holistic approach to customer operations – including support at every stage of solar integration from the developer, consumer, and utility perspective – created comprehensive solutions to help Arizona Public Service (APS) and consumers reach beyond efficiency.
SAIC worked with APS on its Distributed Renewable Energy Operating Impacts and Valuation Study to determine the potential value of distributed solar technologies for its electrical system and to understand the likely operating impacts. APS requested a detailed investigation of the technical and financial considerations associated with deploying solar technologies for residential and commercial photovoltaic systems, residential solar hot water, and solar day lighting. SAIC examined the impact of distributed solar renewable technologies and policies on the utility’s distribution and transmission systems, energy and capacity resource needs, and planning and operations.
SAIC's resource modeling, stakeholder engagement, and renewable energy assessments identified costs and benefits of integrating distributed solar energy facilities and provided a fully informed platform to drive the adoption of new technologies. By combining business acumen with technical expertise, SAIC provided a reliable methodology for identifying, evaluating, and achieving the potential benefits of distributed solar energy resources.
