SAIC supported FirstEnergy’s Energy Efficiency Group throughout its large-scale energy efficiency and conservation programs serving commercial and industrial customers to help save over 260,000 megawatt-hours of electricity.
Overview
SAIC is the program delivery contractor for FirstEnergy’s commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs, which offer incentives toward the purchase of high-efficiency equipment and other energy-saving measures.
SAIC worked with management, engineering, communications, and corporate staff at FirstEnergy to position its business energy efficiency program for success. Our team designed user-friendly programs to encourage energy efficiency measures, built an Energy Program Management and Information System to track progress, and developed program materials and resources to promote participation. SAIC also facilitated updates to the technical resource manual that guides all savings calculations and provided technical reviews and training.
FirstEnergy energy saving programs include: heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) programs, motors and drives program, lighting programs, specialty equipment programs, and custom programs. As of May 31, 2011, after administrating the program for two years, FirstEnergy's participating commercial and industrial customers saved more than 260,000 megawatt-hours of electricity.
