Hands-On Disaster Recovery Support

SAIC has helped customers recover from almost every hurricane making landfall in the United States since 2004, as well as tornadoes, floods, snow and ice storms, and other man-made disasters.

Overview

From day one after a disaster, SAIC can provide hands-on support to communities to begin the task of disaster response and recovery services. We work with local governments (cities/counties), private and non-profit organizations, state-government, public utilities, and universities to provide disaster mitigation, response, and recovery.

“Our number one concern is helping these communities get back on their feet quickly. We have the expertise and experience to provide our customers with the best recovery and debris monitoring services available.” - SAIC's Jonathan Burgiel

When every second counts, SAIC is able to quickly mobilize the staff, equipment, and support systems needed to get roads cleared, staging sites identified, permitted and secured, and crews on the ground. Our experience is extensive and our expertise is built on industry standards. SAIC meets or exceeds the requirements of:

  • Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP)
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1600 Standards on Disasters/Emergency Business Continuity Programs
  • National Incident Management Systems (NIMS)
  • The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA's) guidance on Emergency Management Planning (State and Local Guide 101, FEMA's interim guidance for continuity of operations, etc.)
  • Federal Preparedness Circular (FPC-65)
  • FEMA/Emergency Management Institute and Homeland Security Exercise
  • Evaluation Program (HSEEP)

Our disaster related experience includes debris monitoring/disposal, beach and dune restoration, data management, FEMA reimbursement/appeals support, right-of-entry approvals, and waterways clean-up support and programs.
