Overview

As the technology of communications and media advances at an increasing pace, new training standards are rapidly evolving. Online, mobile, rapid, and collaborative learning environments are quite common in today's portable Internet age. SAIC focuses on employing the latest standards and techniques to promote successful cognitive learning across all mediums.

Experience

SAIC has over 20 years of interactive courseware (ICW) experience resulting in the development of more than 50 highly technical interactive courses for the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Army Combined Arms Center, Program Manager Air Traffic Control, Program Manager Aviation and Army NBC Warfare, delivered on CD-ROM and over the Internet.

  • e-Learning Solutions

Delivering online courseware, or e-learning, can significantly reduce your production costs by cutting down on travel, paper, and shipping expenses. Many companies have courses still being deployed on CD-ROM or in classrooms that may be better served over the Internet or an intranet. SAIC converts these courses into e-learning applications to either replace or accompany the CD and classroom versions.

We developed specialized software tools that XML-wrap all the elements of the course — text, video, pictures, graphics, and audio — and easily import them into an authoring tool where they are cleaned up, re-used, enhanced, packaged, and deployed to a learning management system (LMS).

  • Learning Management Systems

SAIC works closely with LMS vendors to ensure your courses comply with all standards and requirements. We can recommend or even set up an LMS for you to track learner progress, reports, and test scores. We have deployed courseware to various educational and government systems.

We have also set up a variety of internal LMS's and learning content management systems (LCMS). Our courseware products conform to the latest Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL), Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM), ONE-NET, and Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) specifications.

  • Content Creation
    • Does your course content need an upgrade?
SAIC works with subject matter experts to review your course content and make recommendations for improvement. If they are outdated we utilize the most current documentation and work with instructors to upgrade your course material into high-quality interactive courseware.
    • Need brand new course content?
When developing new course content, SAIC defines the structure of each module and lesson and uses various authoring software to develop the courseware in accordance with pre-approved guidelines. The courseware is tested for quality assurance and standards conformance. The final courseware is deployed to the customer's web site, intranet, or LMS and can be delivered on CD-ROM or in a standalone format.

Success Stories

In our efforts to remain at the forefront of the e-learning industry, SAIC maintains close business relationships with multiple networks of e-learning application developers and training organizations to share tools and experiences with other industry leaders.

We also developed custom Adobe Flash templates for the Evolution LCMS, which greatly reduced course development time. Our efforts have significantly improved the tool's usefulness, and it has become an integral part of our toolset.
