Sami Mikhail is robotic process automation (RPA) product manager and lead architect at SAIC. In addition to evangelizing RPA, he is responsible for defining and implementing the RPA practice at SAIC, driving time and cost efficiencies across the organization via tactical and strategic automation of the company’s core business processes. SAIC’s establishment of an RPA practice additionally positions SAIC for RPA practice enablement for customers in government and defense.

Mikhail’s 37-year career spans many iterations of computing innovation, starting with mainframes through client/server architectures, three-tiered architectures, web-based/distributed applications, mobile applications, and automation. He has experience in the telecom, finance, healthcare, and insurance industries. The many positions he had held have reinforced his core philosophy: No viable system can be built without software development discipline.

Since joining SAIC in 2020, Mikhail has guided the selection of an automation platform vendor for SAIC and established the RPA Governance Council (RGC). The backlog of processes to be automated continues to grow as opportunities are identified.

In his spare time, Mikhail enjoys reading, writing, golfing, and keeping up with the adventures of his two adult children. He now knows more about Zoom than he ever wanted to: he is West Plano Presbyterian’s Online Worship deacon.
