Jay “Wizard” Meil is vice president of Innovation and Asymmetric Technology and the Chief Data Scientist at SAIC, where he leads AI and asymmetric technical strategy and oversees solutions that enable rapid decision-making at scale in support of multiple intelligence disciplines and command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR). He also chairs SAIC’s AI Council. Outside of SAIC, Meil is on the Security Industry Association (SIA) AI Advisory Board, has been invited to be a member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium, and advises Congressional committees on topics related to AI. Meil is a recognized subject matter expert in the application of machine learning to analytical tradecraft, all-source intelligence, open source intelligence, and C5ISR. He serves as a technical advisor to numerous intelligence organizations within the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of War (DoW). Meil has led cross-functional teams who have designed, built, and deployed deep learning models to support federal government customers in complex missions of national importance, with the ultimate objective of making the nation safe against peer and near-peer threats. In addition to IC and DoW customers, he has supported civilian agencies including the Department of Homeland Security. Meil is a seasoned AI executive with full lifecycle expertise spanning algorithmic warfare, adversarial machine learning, counter AI capabilities, data exploitation, and multi-domain operations for complex national security challenges.
